To deliver a purpose-built, durable, and accessible Provincial Education Office building in Chinsali that centralises administrative functions, improves staff productivity, and provides an inclusive space for stakeholder engagement. Executed by Trymate Zambia, the facility will support improved education governance and service delivery across the province by providing appropriate office, meeting and support spaces finished to minimise maintenance and optimise operational efficiency.
The works cover substructure, superstructure, finishes, MEP installations and associated external works. Key elements are described below.
Sub-structure (to slab level)
Excavation and formation of strip and pad foundations per geotechnical recommendations.
Blinding, reinforcement and concrete works up to slab level for office block, toilets, kitchen and entrance foyer.
Damp-proof membrane and termite protection where required.
Super-structure
Erection of reinforced concrete columns, beams and ring beams.
Blockwork/brick infill for columned walls and partition walls where specified.
Installation of reinforced concrete lintels over openings.
Structural Roof Members and Covering
Fabrication/installation of structural roof members (trusses/rafters) sized to structural design.
IBR roof sheeting with appropriate flashings and rainwater disposal.
Metal Works (Doors & Window Frames)
Supply and installation of metal door and window frames, including security grills where required.
Provision for timber/metal doors in offices and service areas as specified.
Carpentry Works
Timber works for floor decking and ceiling linings.
Supply and installation of internal doors, shelving, reception counter and joinery.
Plastering, Flooring and Finishes
Internal and external plastering.
Floor finishes using 1:4 cement:sand screeds with final finish (tiles or polished screed as specified).
Painting to internal and external walls, door frames and grills.
Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical Installations
Complete plumbing including water supply, sanitary fittings and drainage.
HVAC provision as per specification.
Electrical wiring, distribution boards, lighting, power outlets and provision for data/telecoms.
Accessibility, Staircases & Safety
Staircases and ramps to meet accessibility requirements.
Accessible toilets and signage.
Basic fire safety provisions in line with regulations.
Site Preparation
Site clearing, grading and earthworks to ensure proper drainage.
Concrete Works & Pavements
Vehicle access, parking bays, concrete walkways and paved areas.
Perimeter Wall & Gates
Secure perimeter wall/fence and vehicle/pedestrian gate with security provisions.
Water Reticulation & Septic Systems
External water reticulation connections and construction of septic tank and soakaways where sewer connection is not available.
Landscaping
Planting of trees and shrubs, turfing of lawn areas, and minor irrigation provisions.
Utility Connections & External Services
Connection to municipal electrical network or alternative supply and external lighting, gullies and manholes.
