Project Objective

To complete Phase 3 of Kalomo District Hospital by constructing three clinical wards (Male, Female and Children), finalising internal works, and completing associated external works and support housing. Executed by Trymate Zambia, this project will increase inpatient capacity, improve patient flow and clinical service delivery, and provide staff accommodation and site infrastructure necessary for a fully operational district hospital.

2. Low-Cost Houses (6 units)

  • Construction of six low-cost houses including foundations, superstructure, roofs, doors and windows.

  • Internal finishes appropriate for residential use and basic fittings.

  • Reticulation works connecting houses to site water and sewer systems.

  • Pavements and paths within the housing cluster.

3. External Works

Landscaping & External Amenity

  • Site grading, topsoiling, planting and finishing of grounds.

Water Reticulation Systems

  • External water mains, storage and distribution to serve hospital, staff housing and external services.

  • Sewerage connections or septic systems where municipal sewer is unavailable.

Expected Outcomes

  • Three fully completed and operational inpatient wards increasing hospital capacity and improving patient care.

  • Six serviced staff houses supporting on-site accommodation and staff retention.

  • Robust external infrastructure (water, access, security and landscaping) that enables safe, efficient hospital operations.

  • Compliance with health sector standards for hygiene, infection control and patient safety.

Quality, Compliance & Health-Safety

  • All works executed by Trymate Zambia to comply with Ministry of Health standards and relevant regulations.

  • Infection-control oriented finishes and detailing in wards to support clinical workflows.

  • Construction to follow health & safety plans, with infection prevention controls during works near existing hospital operations.

Conclusion

The completion of Kalomo District Hospital Phase 3, executed by Trymate Zambia, will significantly strengthen district-level health service delivery by expanding inpatient capacity and improving site infrastructure. With completed wards, staff housing and external works, the hospital will be better equipped to meet patient demand and provide safer, more reliable care to the local population.
